Collaborating with Super Furry Animals feels like a natural fit for Hard Lines. As two proudly Welsh names with deep roots in Cardiff’s independent scene, this project brings together a shared love of creativity, community and doing things a little differently.
Super Furry Animals are one of Wales’ most inventive and loved bands, known for blending psychedelic pop, rock, electronic experimentation, Welsh-language music and a healthy dose of surreal humour into something completely their own. Since the 1990s, they’ve built a cult following through albums and live shows that feel playful, political and unpredictable all at once.
This collaboration feels like a true celebration of Welsh creativity, showcasing a shared appreciation for experimentation and not taking things too seriously, while still caring deeply about the craft behind it all.
“As a massive SFA fan, getting to collaborate on something like this feels really special. Especially as it’s their first tour in 10 years, and we’ve just turned 10. It was meant to be!” Matt, Director and Co-Founder of Hard Lines.
We worked closely with the band to find a coffee that feels vibrant and full of character. Bright citrus acidity up front, layered with lively berry notes, balanced by a smooth vanilla sweetness. Like the music that inspired the collaboration, it’s expressive, energetic and a little unexpected.
The packaging was also a carefully considered collaboration between the bands graphic designers and our Head of Brand and Design, Steve Pierce.
